“Worker” in the Lord’s Vineyard

This entry to the series of what it means to be a "Member" of the Lord's Church utilizes the Lord's parable of The Workers in the Vineyard from Matthew 20:1-16 to ddohelp us better understand our relationship to Him. If we are workers in the Lord's vineyard, and thus members of His Church, we don't get to pick "a field" of our own making or desires. Neither are we free to choose our own "hours of labor" or "pay scale" or "time of harvest"- all of these factors are instead subject to His determination.

About the Church of Christ

The Southside Church of Christ family is a group of people who are striving to learn, understand, and live what God's Word teaches. We want to be New Testament Christians- nothing more, and certainly nothing less.

We call ourselves a "Church of Christ" for several reasons:

We seek to be the Church according to His teaching, therefore we belong to Him;
It is a scriptural name by which saints in the New Testament were called [Romans 16:16]; and,
It hopefully identifies us to others as people who are trying to be the non-denominational Church which Jesus Christ purchased with his blood [Acts 20:28].
