Deacons 2- Their Qualifications

Since three lessons were recently given on the qualifications of Elders, and many of the qualifications for the office of Deacon are the same, limited attention is herein given. This in no way de-emphasizes the office or the qualifications for it- instead we just acknowledge the avoidance of redundancy.

About the Church of Christ

The Southside Church of Christ family is a group of people who are striving to learn, understand, and live what God's Word teaches. We want to be New Testament Christians- nothing more, and certainly nothing less.

We call ourselves a "Church of Christ" for several reasons:

We seek to be the Church according to His teaching, therefore we belong to Him;
It is a scriptural name by which saints in the New Testament were called [Romans 16:16]; and,
It hopefully identifies us to others as people who are trying to be the non-denominational Church which Jesus Christ purchased with his blood [Acts 20:28].
